In scope of the state's policy in encouraging and effectuating the participation of the private sector in national investments in order to accelerate development in all various economic sector and enhance the national economy. The investment law no. 230 of 1989 was issued, pursuant to which the International Company for Mining and Investment (ICMI) SAE was among the leading Egyptian investment projects under its umbrella.

In participation to the Egyptian industrial renaissance, the company was incorporated in 1991 as an industrial project with a principal objective of producing Bentonite for various uses in addition to other raw materials such as Feldspar with all kind, Calcium Carbonate, Marble, Quartz and Barite to supply the needs of various industrial and construction projects. The company`s factory was established, as one of the largest factories operating in the same field in Egypt covering an area of forty thousand square meters at the industrial zone in Sadat industrial city located on Cairo – Alexandria desert road.
